TextLift is built to be private by default. The app runs entirely on your Mac.
The short version
- Text and table recognition happens on your device using Apple's Vision framework and, for digital PDFs, the file's own text layer.
- We do not collect, store, or transmit the content you capture.
- There is no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking, and no account inside the app.
- Buying a license is handled by our reseller Lemon Squeezy, who acts as merchant of record.

No captured image or text is ever sent off your Mac by TextLift.
Capture History
If "Keep capture history" is enabled (Settings), your most recent captures are stored locally only, in ~/Library/Application Support/TextLift/. This never leaves your Mac, is never transmitted, and you can clear it at any time (History → Clear All) or turn it off entirely in Settings.
Permissions
- Screen Recording — required only so TextLift can read the pixels of the region you select for a screen capture. It is not used for anything else and is not needed to OCR a file you open.
Purchases (handled by Lemon Squeezy)
When you buy a license, the purchase is processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. We (Novantia) receive limited order details — typically your name, email address, and the license key issued — which we use only to deliver and validate your license and to provide customer support. Your license key is stored locally on your Mac and validated offline.
Your rights (GDPR / EU)
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the limited personal data we hold (your order/support records) by emailing support@novantia.eu. Because captured content never reaches us, there is nothing on our side to delete for it — it lives only on your Mac.
Children
TextLift is a productivity tool not directed at children under 16.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted on this page with a new date.
