PDF Kit is built to be private by default. The app runs entirely on your Mac and makes no network connections.
The short version
- Your PDFs are opened, edited, OCR'd and redacted on your device.
- We do not collect, store, or transmit the documents you open.
- There is no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking, and no account inside the app.
- Buying a license is handled by our reseller Lemon Squeezy, who acts as merchant of record.

No document content is ever written to a Novantia server or sent off your Mac by PDF Kit.
Redaction — an important note
When you apply redactions, the affected pages are rebuilt image-only so the underlying text is physically removed and the document metadata cleared. A redacted page loses its selectable text layer; you can re-OCR it with Make Searchable. Always verify a redacted file before sharing it.
Permissions
PDF Kit needs no special system permissions. It works on the documents you explicitly open or drop in — it does not use Screen Recording or Accessibility, and it does not access the network.
Purchases (handled by Lemon Squeezy)
When you buy a license, the purchase is processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. We (Novantia) receive limited order details — typically your name, email address, and the license key issued — which we use only to deliver and validate your license and to provide customer support. Your license key is stored locally on your Mac and validated offline.
Your rights (GDPR / EU)
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the limited personal data we hold (your order/support records) by emailing support@novantia.eu. Because your documents never reach us, there is nothing on our side to delete for them — they live only on your Mac.
